A foundation carries the entire weight of your home and transfers it into the ground, so it has to be right before anything else goes up. We excavate to bearing soil, form and pour reinforced concrete, and detail the assembly for the wet, sometimes unstable soils common across the Puget Sound region. Rebar placement, anchor bolts, and hold-down locations all follow the structural engineer's drawings so the house is tied down for seismic events. Proper drainage and damp-proofing keep groundwater from working against the concrete over time. When we backfill, you have a level, code-approved base ready for framing.

1) Excavate to bearing soil and confirm conditions with the engineer; 2) Form footings and walls and tie reinforcing steel to plan; 3) Pour, consolidate, and cure the concrete to spec; 4) Waterproof, install drainage, and backfill after inspection

We schedule pours around drier weather when possible and protect fresh concrete from heavy Puget Sound rain so it cures properly.
