What This Service Involves

Wall framing forms the skeleton that carries your roof, transfers loads to the foundation, and defines every room in the house. Our crews lay out plates, cut studs, and raise walls to match approved plans while accounting for the seismic bracing and shear panels that Puget Sound building departments require. We use pressure-treated bottom plates on concrete and detail every opening so windows and doors land exactly where the design calls for them. Careful nailing patterns and hold-downs keep the structure stable when the ground moves. The result is a square, level frame that every trade after us can build on with confidence.

Our Process

1) Review stamped plans and confirm wall layout with you on site; 2) Snap plate lines and cut studs, headers, and blocking to length; 3) Raise, brace, and fasten walls with code hold-downs and shear nailing; 4) Check for plumb and square, then call for city framing inspection

What Affects the Cost

Total linear footage and number of walls being framed; Wall height and whether tall or two-story shear walls are involved; Lumber grade and any engineered or steel members specified; Number and size of window and door openings; Seismic hold-down hardware and shear-panel requirements

Best Time of Year

Framing goes fastest in our drier late-spring through early-fall window, though we tarp and sequence work to keep raising walls through Puget Sound's wet months.
