We build reinforced stem walls that carry your home from the footing up to the framed floor above.
A stem wall is the short concrete or block wall that rises from the footing to support the framing and lift the structure above grade. We form and pour reinforced walls tied into the footings, setting anchor bolts and hold-downs so the frame connects securely for seismic performance. Raising the framing above grade this way keeps wood away from the wet soil and standing water common in Puget Sound yards. We detail the top of the wall level and true so the sill plate and floor system start out square. Vents, access, and utility penetrations are cast in place per the plan.

Stem wall pours are scheduled around drier windows and protected from heavy rain so the concrete cures to full strength.
