What This Service Involves

Slate is a dense, cleft stone with a naturally textured surface that grips underfoot, making it excellent for entries and mudrooms where rain gets tracked in. Its rich charcoal, green, and rust tones bring an organic, grounded feel to Northwest interiors. We prepare the substrate and seal the stone to lock out moisture and protect its color. The result is a tough, distinctive floor that ages gracefully.

1) Sort slate tiles for color and thickness; 2) Level and prime the substrate; 3) Set slate in a full mortar bed; 4) Seal the surface and grout the joints
