Strong Foundations. Superior Results.
Premium ipe hardwood decking that delivers exceptional density and decades of Northwest durability.
Ipe is a dense tropical hardwood prized for its extraordinary strength, natural resistance to rot, and striking dark grain. Because it is so hard, ipe stands up remarkably well to foot traffic, moisture, and the moss pressure of our climate. Our carpenters pre-drill and fasten each board with specialized hardware, since ipe is too dense for standard screws. The result is a luxurious, long-lived deck that many homeowners consider a lifetime investment.
Extreme density resists dents, rot, and wear; Naturally repels insects and moisture without chemicals; Rich, upscale appearance that ages to a silver patina; Fire-resistant rating higher than most decking; Lifespan measured in decades with minimal care
1) Review ipe sourcing, color, and finish expectations; 2) Build a robust frame sized for the hardwood's weight; 3) Pre-drill and fasten boards with hidden hardwood clips; 4) Apply oil finish if desired and inspect the surface
Ipe material cost, the highest of common decking; Board lengths and grade; Specialized fasteners and labor for pre-drilling; Deck size and framing requirements; Optional oil finishing
A dry summer install lets ipe oil finishes cure properly, though the hardwood itself tolerates installation in any season.
